DUKE WEST CAMPUS UNION
The Duke University's West Campus Union building is the social hub of the west campus.
Project Location: Durham, NC
Project Role: Virtual Coordination
- Renovation to the existing facility originally built in 1931.
- Existing walls are stone with some being over 18" thick. This existing structure posed challenges for routing new MEP systems.
- The core of the original building was replaced with a modern architectural facility composed of glass and steel.
- A high density of kitchens required careful consideration for routing power distribution.
